“I am a 61-year-old physician and have been training with Steven for approximately four and a half years.  Before we began working together I did have one major concern. I like to be pushed athletically past my comfort zone, but I had a pre-existing right ACL tear, and one and a half years ago, I ruptured the left ACL during a freak surfing accident. I was concerned that Steven wouldn’t be able to challenge me and keep me safe. One orthopedic surgeon told me that I would never surf a short board with both ACLs ruptured and unrepaired!  Steven was able to collaborate with my physical therapist’s guidelines to get back out on the surfboard. We trained while I was recovering in my knee brace and three months later I was back surfing without surgery! I am proud to say that I have successfully transitioned from a nine to a seven-foot surfboard, and am working towards a six foot ten-inch board!
